But also sometimes to just make in the weekend.

Read our best tips below and which coffees are suitable for this Italian delicacy.

To arise

This popular dessert originated, how could it be otherwise, in Italy. The name Tiramisu means 'pick me up' and that is exactly what the ingredients of Tiramisu do. After a long day or a heavy dinner, this dessert gives you a well-deserved pick-me-up.

What do you need?

2.5 dl espresso coffee

4 egg yolks

75 g sugar

500 g mascarpone

4 tbsp liqueur (for example almond liqueur or espresso liqueur)

175 g ladyfingers

1 tbsp cocoa powder

A flat baking dish

Tip: Start in time because this dessert needs to set for at least three hours!

In progress:

  1. Make fresh coffee and let it cool down. While it is cooling, put the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl and beat them together until fluffy.
  2. Put the mascarpone in a second bowl and add two tablespoons of liqueur. Beat it with a fork until it is loose. Now add the egg yolks and stir them gently together. Do not beat! When the coffee has cooled, add the other two tablespoons of liqueur.
  3. Now dip the ladyfingers briefly through your coffee/liqueur mixture one by one. Arrange them next to each other on the bottom of the baking dish. When the entire bottom is full, cover the ladyfingers with half of your mascarpone mixture.
  4. On top of that you then make a second layer with ladyfingers dipped in coffee. You also cover these ladyfingers with the rest of the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Let this set for at least three hours. Just before serving, sprinkle some cocoa powder over it to make it look even more festive.

Tiramisu tips for variation :

If you have children eating with you, you can make a separate dish for them with a decaffeinated coffee as a base. Maybe also nice for yourself if you eat the dessert late in the evening. And instead of liqueur you can use a delicious Monin syrup . Vary it to your heart's content and enjoy all these delicious taste sensations!
