RECYCLING BAG TEMPORARILY AVAILABLE AGAIN
Easy recycling with the Dolce Gusto Recycling Bag
Sustainability is central to Nescafé. According to the coffee company, we can only make a difference together. At Dolce Gusto, you don't have to do much for that. You can return your old coffee capsules in the specially developed Nescafé recycling bag. The bag is now available for free at KoffiePiraat!
Easy and free
The recycling bag is a sustainable bag in which you can collect all used capsules. When the recycling bag is full, you can easily and free of charge return the bag to one of the more than 850 UPS locations. The bag has space for 75 to 100 capsules. This is neatly indicated with a line on the bag. It is possible to recycle all Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules. So it does not matter whether it is coffee, tea, milk or chocolate.
The process
After the recycling bag is received, the bag is taken by the Nescafé partners. All capsules are collected in one place until there is enough volume to process the capsules. All materials are recycled in the right way. The capsules are separated from coffee and milk residues. In this way, coffee residue and a mix of ground plastic with a small percentage of aluminum remain.
The result
Nescafé is creative with the leftovers. The coffee is used to produce biofuel and biogas. The rest of the residue is used for compost to make fields fertile again. After the plastic is separated, it is processed into different forms and products. For example, the plastic is mainly processed into playground equipment for children. In this way, nothing is wasted and everyone can enjoy the product.
Tip from KoffiePiraat: Drain capsules
Are you going to start recycling your Dolce Gusto capsules? Great! Make sure that the water is removed from the capsules as much as possible. By draining the capsules, the capsule becomes lighter. This saves energy during transport and processing. It is ultimately better for the environment.
